Job Description

MAXIMUS is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to support a highly complex environment consisting of multiple Active Directory (AD) forests and over 30 domains with a future emphasis on the adoption of cloud technologies and services. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft architecture and infrastructure (Azure AD, ADDS, AADC, Azure SSO, Azure B2B, Azure B2C, Microsoft 365, Group Policy, Azure MFA, DNS, etc.). In this role as Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be collaborating with many other teams such as: Information Security Office, Audit and compliance, Office 365, Project Management, AWS Cloud, and application administration to ensure MAXIMUS Azure AD and on-prem Active Directory are designed, configured, and maintained as per our defined, regulated, and audited policies and standards. This position will provide support and administration as well as design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of the MAXIMUS Azure AD and on-prem AD environment(s) and its services. This position will support and assist in design of highly complex, integrated solutions and procedures to facilitate the delivery of services and products.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
•The candidate should be able to perform engineering level work within Azure AD and Active Directory while demonstrating the ability to be a subject matter expert for related technologies.
•Administrate, design and develop integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance
•Will ensure continuity in the day-to-day operation of Microsoft Azure, Windows Active Directory multi-domain infrastructure (LDAP, Directory Replication, Group Policy, Establishing Trusts, Organizational Units, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
•Provide technical consultation on current and proposed systems and applications to other organizations and clients
•Perform repairs, maintenance and upgrades of existing systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures
•Participate in Change Management process including research, documentation, planning and implementation
•Perform and evaluate cost analyses and vendor comparisons of software/hardware systems to ensure cost-effective and efficiency and measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations
•Analyze potential systems investments and prepare supporting documentation for recommendation(s) to management and customers by handling systems-related issues; may provide on-call technical support telephonically and/or electronically
•Analyze and resolve program support deficiencies and conduct testing to enhance performance
•Conduct moderately complex projects or phases of significant projects; and coordinate the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
•Apply advanced methods, theories and research techniques and assist in the development, implementation and documentation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices
•Needs to have a continual improvement mindset while working within a team centric environment.
•Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation.
•Provide work guidance to less experienced personnel.
•Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Education/Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, preferred field of study in Information Technology or Engineering, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
•Experience with Azure Active Directory or an administrative role within Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
•Experience supporting Active Directory within a Windows Server 2012R2 – 2019 environment.
•Strong experience managing Azure and AD using PowerShell and/or other scripting languages.
•Experience with system engineering, software engineering, operating systems, programming or architecture to include: At least 5 years of hand-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, experience installing, configuring, upgrading and AD migrations; experience developing and implementing Clustering solutions; experience developing and implementing High Availability solutions.
•Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Internet fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, HTTP)
•Availability to provide rotational after-hours/on-call support for a 24x7x365 operational environment.
•Experience with certificate services/PKI administration
•Demonstration of leadership skills to assist less-experience personnel.
•Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior-level personnel, and team members.
•Ability to work well both independently and in team environment.
•Proven ability to multi-task and prioritization of rapidly changing tasks and assignments.
•Analytical and creative problem-solving skills for the design, creation and testing of systems.
•Communication skills to communicate system proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to sit for up to 80% of time
•Ability to lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
•Frequent use of computer, telephone, and office equipment (copier, fax, scanner)


 Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for development activities for systems implementation and O&M software and infrastructure development projects.
- Work with Senior Engineer to architect moderate to advanced solutions, solicit and incorporate inputs from technical and operational teams and document for consumption of engineering teams.
- Actively participate and contribute in SDLC activities such as solution design, work effort estimation, assisting peers with technical challenges and code reviews.
- Perform production support activities such as monitor system processes, evaluate the outcome of system processes, work through system exceptions, and create processes to monitor and report on the overall system health.
- Work with the supervisor to understand the assigned work, deliver on agreed upon dates and raise issues/risks in a timely manner in case of risk to deliverables.
- Create/modify artifacts and deliverables expected from the SDLC and change management process.
- Propose, design, and implement updates or improvements to processes and infrastructure hardware such as network devices, servers and workstations.
- Follow the SDLC and change management processes adopted by the organization.
- Create scripts to aid in automation and efficiency.

Minimum Requirements:
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
