Job Description

MAXIMUS seeks a Senior Automation Tester to join a fast-paced Agile software development team supporting the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This individual will be an integral part of the team, working closely with developers and the external testing team to ensure a high-quality product.
Work closely with developers daily to ensure mutual understanding of defects and address recurring issues to reduce rate of future defects. Conduct demos for external testing team to ensure mutual understanding of defects and align testing activities. Use Agile Central (Rally) to track and coordinate work activities within the team.

Project Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Team Lead/ Manager to develop plans, schedules, and present time estimation for testing activities to be performed
- Develop automation test scripts using Selenium frameworks
- Build and maintain automation test scripts for Services, UI and DB components
- Coordinate testing activities against project test plans and test schedules.
- Write and implement manual and automated QA test plans, using technical requirements or design specifications, and produce automated test cases.
- Research all automated testing technology and assist with implementation of appropriate tools.
- Investigate, recommend, implement, and manage automated testing tools.
- Implement performance testing and analyze results of performance tests.
- Develop and implement testing for technical and development projects.
- Participate and support the acceptance test activities working in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct detailed analysis of test results found through both manual and automated testing.
- Investigate and propose methods and standards for continuous process improvement.

Minimum Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience; or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Builds productive internal/external working relationships.


 Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply systems analysis and testing techniques and procedures, to ensure software or system functional specifications are correctly identified.
- Create test-related work products (test cases/scripts, test datasets, test validation and verification results etc.) per testing standards and procedures.
- Prepare any required reporting documentation for the respective testing activities.
- Coordinate with project manager, technical lead, and/or other Integrated Product Team (IPT) members to execute and document test activities.
- Triage open testing problems, updating problem status, and provide solutions or workarounds for test issues, problems and defects.
- Assist in managing testing requirements; create, duplicate, and execute test cases and scripts; identify and document testing problems; and report testing status.
- Work production software defects on an as-needed basis.
- Ensure adherence to performance standards and best practices during testing – Development Independent Testing (DIT), System Independent/Integration Testing (SIT), and Framework for Integrated Test (FIT).

Minimum Requirements:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of variable factors
- Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
