Job Description

The Associate QA Engineer is an IT Application Testing Shared Services resource who is responsible for systems test execution activities for systems implementation and O&M software development projects. The Associate QA Engineer is required to perform analysis and review of system requirements for automation as well as manual testing, participate in peer reviews, and assist with test data prep needs. This position is also responsible for assisting QA Engineers with white/gray box testing and providing support to the automation/performance test team.

  • Develop and maintain test scenarios and test cases for manual based on MAXIMUS’ standards; Report and track defects to closure; Assist with test related activities as directed.
  • Participate in Project meetings, Reviews and Status reporting; in QMSS activities by maintaining data for M&A (metrics).
  • Participate in activities and development of documentation related to Testing Shared Services.
  • Participate in automation/performance testing support.
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; field of study in Computer Science or engineering field preferred.
  • Understanding of all phases of SDLC.
  • Understand software quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with web based applications.
  • Familiar/Basic exposure to Operating systems and basic DOS/Unix commands.
  • Familiarity with Databases or concepts; SQL.
  • Familiar with web services concept and XML.
  • Familiar with programming language concepts.
  • Understand Test Case and defect structure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, Project, and Excel).
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and ask questions to obtain clarity of assignments where necessary.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Exposure to testing tools such as test management, web services test tools and XML validations preferred.
  • PowerPoint presentation experience preferred.
