Job Description

The eLearning Training Specialist is responsible for the development of course content, for web-based training. Requires that eLearning Specialist work closely with course content owners within the department, with subject matter experts and internal clients as needed for the course development. This position researches and advises management in terms of development software, tools, and resources for course development and delivery.
Duties / Responsibilities:
•Create web-based training content working directly with subject matter experts or with course content designers
•Develop online training programs and training materials based on proven adult learning techniques including ADDIE, Rapid Course Development and Adult Learning Theory
•Convert instructor-led training programs to web-based self-study
•Review, evaluate, and modify existing and proposed programs
•Conduct “Just in Time” online Refresher Training based on changes to work instructions
•Develop training scenarios and manually update comprehensive training environment data resources to ensure that systems training mimics the production environment systems tools used by employees on a daily basis
•Work extensively with stakeholders and SMEs to perform needs analysis, develop learning objectives and design deliverables that meet learner and stakeholder needs and organizational quality standards
•Work extensively with internal and external stakeholders, management staff, and subject matter experts to develop qualitative and quantitative assessment tools to measure learner and stakeholder requirements, competencies, and organizational quality standards
•Develop assessments to measure and assess effectiveness of the curriculum and learner performance in the workplace, integrating results into new and existing course curriculum
•Follow the regulatory approval and document management process when creating or updating training materials
•Work closely with WFM to schedule online courses
•Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.
•Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
•Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds
•Work is constantly performed in an office environment
•Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Education Required:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Background & Experience Required:
•3+ years of experience
•Experience in instructional technology or curriculum development
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
•Proficiency in graphics and multimedia development applications (such as PhotoShop or PaintShop Pro, Articulate Studio, Adobe Captivate) and experience with Learning Management Systems
•Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment
•Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
•Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
•Experience in completing monitoring reports, and providing feedback to staff and/or management as appropriate
•Knowledge and experience with project management, CRM software, and/or call center telephonic tracking software is preferred
•Knowledge and work experience with New York State programs (i.e. CHIP, TANF, SNAP, Medicaid or LTC) or private health insurance is preferred The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.

  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
