The successful candidate for this position will be responsible to deliver and/or oversee accuracy of project structure in the accounting system (Deltek/Cognos). This involves accurately ensuring set up of project and/or charge codes, entering invoicing details related to client and vendor invoices, and running reports to check accuracy. The successful candidate for this position reports to the Senior Manager of Finance but will work very closely with other finance managers and directors, project managers, as well as finance and operational leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Project Managers provide financial oversight to include month-end close processes, variance analysis, re-forecasting, budgeting and all month-end-close-related activities
  • At month close, coordinate accruals and adjustments across all divisions, check accuracy, obtain appropriate approvals, and submit to accounting for processing
  • Prepare first draft of Monthly Financial Performance after books are closed
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to obtain accurate client billing as well as vendor invoicing information
  • Update Deltek CostPoint system as needed based on any adjustments necessary to for billing to be completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure accuracy of created contract nodes in Accounting System (Deltek CostPoint/Cognos) as per approved Contract Information Form (CIF), including org structure and revenue recognition formula
  • On monthly basis, obtain explanations from Project Managers and Project Finance for outstanding AR and EAC Adjustments, and provide audit-support documentation for internal and external audit 
  • Run financial reports related to actuals, AR, DSOs, Utilization, etc. and publish it for use by Finance and Operations divisions as needed
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field of study, equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Master's of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited college or university preferred
  • At least five (5) years of related experience, with at least three (3) years of experience in a financial planning or budgeting role, required
  • At least three (3) years of leadership experience required
  • Strong organizational, verbal, written, analytical, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills with briefing executive management as well as advanced knowledge of PowerPoint in support of briefing material
  • Strong familiarity with finance/accounting activities including P&L, AR, AP, accruals, billings, forecast, budget, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working in an accounting system; experience with Deltek CostPoint/Cognos highly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Team player who has ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment delivering results and quality services
  • Strong organizational skills and discipline with ability to complete multiple tasks accurately while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Experience with various contract types (T&M, fixed price and cost reimbursable) and federal contracting background preferred
