In the Technical Writer role, the candidate should coordinate and work closely with the Project Manager to identify list of technical documents that need to be created in support of new product development and deployment. The candidate should be able to deliver clear, concise and succinct documentation deliverables as assigned or instructed by the project manager.

  • Write, edit and be responsible for minutes for various meeting
  • Create deliverable documents and meeting minutes that comply to quality standards
  • Obtain necessary information for document content by conducting independent research and by meeting with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other relevant stakeholders
  • Gather, analyze and compose technical information for a variety of documents including Management Plans (for example Project, Risk), Project Charter, Solution Concept, Computer Operator’s Handbook
  • Support creation of a documentation schedule including review and sign-off dates and track work to meet dates
  • Create technical and system documents/training documents
  • Engage in formatting, editing and quality assurance on own work and the work of others
  • Receive text from technical staff and rewrite documentation in a clear and concise style
  • Improve editorial and visual standards for documents and recommend new designs, layouts and procedures, as needed
  • Escalate potential issues and risks to Project Manager and assist with entering risks into risk management application
  • Collaborate with project managers and project leads
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area from an accredited college or university required, equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree. Preferred field of study: English/Journalism/Liberal Arts
  • At least three (3) years of experience with IT technical writing and technical documentation
  • At least three (3) years of demonstrated writing proficiency for multiple audiences and in multiple modes (reports, meeting minutes, presentations, user guides, manuals, technical specifications)
  • At least three (3) years of experience where in the potential candidate translated technical information into clear, readable documents for technical and business users
  • Superior Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Visio and adobe experience
  • Experience with Visio/SharePoint preferred
  • Microsoft Project/Microsoft Office Suite Certification preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail capability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for up to 80% of time
  • Work is performed in a general office environment with a low to moderate noise level
