We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client located in Memphis, TN.

The Network Engineer will perform network engineering, operations, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting on a large and complex network with an emphasis on the data center.

•Determine network hardware needs and costs to meet project requirements
•Install, deploy, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network hardware and issues
•Establish complex routing schema
•Coordinate actions to ensure the implementation of networks that support mission requirements
•Establish networking environment by designing system configuration; direct system installation; and define, document, and enforce system standards
•Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
•Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
•Accomplish information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed

•Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science or other IT related field from an accredited college or university required; an additional four (4) years of related work experience may substitute for a degree
•At least eight (8) years of related experience required
•At least five (5) years of network engineering experience to include network monitoring and troubleshooting required
•Experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and network technologies
•Proficient in network technologies including Ethernet, VLANS, and TCP/IP
•Ability to work as part of a team and ability to support multiple tasks at the same time
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
•Ability to work well independently or in a team setting
•Preferred qualifications include:
oCisco Certifications - CCNP, CCNA or CCDP
oExperience designing and implementing network configurations
oExperience implementing and supporting Cisco Nexus 7000 and 9000 switches
oExperience implementing and supporting Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
oSome combination of experience with network technologies including Ethernet, ATM, VLANS, load balancers; TCP/IP; BGP; and other Emerging Technologies

Physical Requirements:
•Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
•Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 50-75 lbs.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.

Additional Requirements as per contract/client:
•Ability to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus)
•United States Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency (Green Card status) for at least three (3) years, and Federal Tax compliant The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead.
