The Microsoft Active Directory subject matter expert will support the Windows Server Team, with high level planning, systems architecture and technical direction. Work to collect requirements from the diverse customer base, perform the appropriate analysis, develop the strategic roadmap, and all associated documentation. Act as the primary point of contact between the Windows Server Team and the Engineering Team.  Serve as a subject matter expert with regards to Windows Active Directory and associates services. Deploy network equipment such as File servers and associated storage.

  • Provide leadership to a diverse group of technical professionals
  • Design, implement and configure the systems needed to support an enterprise AD infrastructure
  • Design, implement and configure the enterprise server infrastructure and have upgraded an enterprise environment from 2003 to 2012 R2
  • Design, migrate and configure SCOM from 2007 to 2012
  • Create training material(s) to provide to the customer on all solutions implemented
  • Create standard operating procedures on all solutions implemented
  • Research, evaluate, and remain current on emerging tools, techniques, and IT technologies
  • Work closely with client to perform technical and requirements analysis
  • Work effectively in a collaborative and innovative team-oriented environment
  • Clearly communicate and set expectations of all developer tasks
  • Closely work with multiple groups to review work and to remove impediments/road blocks
  • Provide weekly statuses and estimates of all priority and non-priority projects along with recommended scope or schedule changes based on capacity and unforeseen challenges. Weekly review of all change requests (CAFs)
  • Inspire, mentor and train development team on modern technologies continuously
  • Participate in strategy planning discussions with technical, business, and client partners
  • Coordinate and support application deployments
  • Provide technical support including participation in on call rotation
  • Assist in the hiring process to hire top talent and in the performance reviews of team members, identifying areas of improvement
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, equivalent years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree (Computer Science or Math background preferred)
  • At least seven (7) years of system administration experience is required
  • Candidate should have experience as a Microsoft Windows subject matter expert or systems architect and demonstrate competence in the following:
    • 5 years of experience as a senior systems engineer in an Active Directory enterprise environment
    • Demonstrated experience architecting Active Directory implementations
  • Should understand and be comfortable with the following concepts:
    • ITIL
    • Configuration Management
    • Release Management
    • Change Management
    • COOP and Disaster Recovery
    • Backup and Recovery Strategy
    • Enterprise Cloud
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
  • Working knowledge with System Development Lifecycle development process
  • Ability to identify, analyze, coordinate, and resolve environment and infrastructure needs to ensure a smooth running application
  • Hands-on experience designing, building and operating scalable IT infrastructures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with personnel at all levels in the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and productivity-oriented
  • Organized, timely, and customer service-oriented
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for up to 80% of time
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced general office environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust - Moderate Risk Security Clearance
