Job Description

The Analyst - Systems Analysis position is responsible for providing systems analysis for systems implementation and software development projects. This position works with the business to provide business requirement solutions using MAXIMUS requirements development practices. The Analyst also develops and manages requirements, creates user stories or use cases, writes and executes test cases, and provides support for system stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholder to identify and document the system level requirements that solution the business requirements.
  • Analyze business process flows to generate systems process flows and requirements
  • Work with project team to understand how the present and future business needs may impact the solution Contribute to the creation of design specifications, user manuals, release notes, end user training materials and general system documentation
  • Update and maintain required documents based on reviews and scope changes.
  • Participate in issue triage sessions by evaluating against existing requirements and determine outcome and priority
  • Support and contribute to the Requirements Development standard practices and procedures
  • Participate in project peer reviews to ensure that requirements development methodologies are followed and the artifact content supports the scoped changes                                                                                                                                             
  • Assist with basic back and configuration changes or data preparation
  • Work with development team during design phase to clarify use cases and/or requirements
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of test cases
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience; field of study in Computer Science or engineering field preferred.
  • Interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information
  • Listening skills, to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
  • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • Observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation
  • Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff
  • Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and engineering)
  • High degree of confidence and ability to influence others through strong communication skills
  • 5% travel required required.
  • Understanding of a basic software development life cycle preferred
  • Understanding  the Health and Human services industry preferred
  • Technical skills experience preferred
